Alex Kratena is a multi-award-winning bartender and entrepreneur shaping the modern global drinks landscape. He is the co-founder of Muyu liqueurs, Tayēr RTD, London’s hotspot Tayēr + Elementary, and the global industry travel party collective Like Minded Creatures.
The industry impact was immediate: Tayēr + Elementary entered the World’s 50 Best Bars list at No. 5—earning Highest New Entry in 2021—and climbed to the No. 2 spot globally in 2022 and back to #5 in 2025.
During the pandemic, Alex and co-founder Monica Berg launched Tayēr RTD, a ultra-premium collection of bottled cocktails blending classic cocktails with contemporary flavors.
Alex designed the Tayēr Hexagon System, a highly adaptable bar station tailored for operators pushing industry boundaries. Built for maximum flexibility and creativity, the modular workstation is available in both single and double configurations in collaboration with Behind Bars.
In 2023, the brand ecosystem expanded with a line of cocktail tools and the launch of Tayēr Studios. This hybrid lifestyle concept merges a gallery space, cocktail bar, and retail experience. The studio now serves as a creative hub extending into digital work, product design, flavor formulation, perfume and fashion capsule collection. Alex regularly releases the Tayēr mixtapes – a series that has gathered a dedicated cult following.
Now in its sixth year, Tayēr + Elementary feels as fresh as the day it opened while also becoming the blueprint for progressive cocktail bars. As the name suggests, Tayēr + Elementary is a bar of two parts. Elementary is an industrially designed diner-style front bar. A casual, neighbourhood drinking experience where the draught cocktails form the bar’s core and weekly-changing seasonal and collaborative menus are served in seconds alongside the own-label wine and beer.
