Full List of “The 100 Chefs” 2018 ranking

Michel Troisgros, 1st in the ranking “The 100 chefs” 2018

First of all, the Classification “The 100 Chefs” 2018, initiated by the magazine Le Chef, was unveiled on Sunday 26 November 2017 on the occasion of the opening night of the 2nd World Summit chefs in Monaco.
Indeed, the only world ranking of chefs established by the Chiefs themselves, “The 100 chefs” is the result of a vote made by 2 Michelin star and 3 star chefs from around the world, selecting among their peers those who best embody the values of the profession. Furthermore, all of them replied anonymously to the questions:

  • What do you think are the 5 international leaders who:
    • Embodie best the values of the profession
    • Create an essential kitchen
    • Where you must go

Most of it, Michel Troisgros of the Maison Troisgros (France) is number 1st in the ranking, integrating for the first time the top 10. Next to him, French chef Arnaud Donckele and Italian chef Enrico Crippa are also in this top 10. Meanwhile, Norway enters for the first time in the top 100 with the Norwegian leader Esben Hilmboe Bang.

A change is also noteworthy in the order of the top 5 countries

If between 2015 and 2017, the head rankings were always France, Japan, USA, Italy and Spain, the ranking 2018 brought Spain back to 2nd place, ex-aequo with Japan.
Moreover, the dynamism of French cuisine is also confirmed, since in 2018, the international leaders classified 41 French chefs among the 100 whereas in 2015 they were only 31.
Among the new French chefs classified for the first time, we find Michel Trama, Marc Veyrat, Patrick Henriroux, Frédéric Anton, Arnaud Faye and Serge Vieira.

The Top 10 is as follows:

1-Michel TROISGROS – MAISON TROISGROS – France (for the first time in the top 10)
