Michelin Stars announced into the Guide 2018 for Spain and Portugal

Two new three-star restaurants!

The Michelin season is going on : the fresh list of Michelin star restaurants has been released for 2018 in Spain and Portugal from Tenerife in the Canarias. According to Gastroactitud, there are two new three-star restaurants!

First, Abac in Barcelona, helmed by chef Jordi Cruz. Secondly, Aponiente in Puerto de Santa María, where chef Angel León leads the kitchen. Per Bon Viveur, that brings the region’s total three-star count to 11.

Furthermore, there are five new two-star restaurants, including Barcelona essential Disfrutar and Coque in Madrid. Enigma — the majorly buzzy new restaurant from empire-builder Albert Adrià — debuted in the guide at one star. Portugal has two new one-star restaurants.  Thus, Gusto, chef Heinz Beck’s restaurant in Algarve and Vista, chef João Oliveira’s restaurant, also in Algarve.

Moreover, Arzak, the Basque restaurant chef Elena Arzak runs with her father continues to be a rare exception. Indeed, it maintains its three-star status this year! Elena Arzak is one of only a handful of women currently commanding three-Michelin-starred kitchen.
